As a wrestling fan of almost 32 years, I’ve always been in love with all things wrestling. However as a black woman who’s a wrestling, a missing piece has always been telling OUR story, our journey, seeing how we excel in this business. This movie is something I’ve been waiting for all my life.

Pro wrestling as an art is often presented and recanted from the white male perspective. It’s also a world where black wrestlers have had invisible barriers placed on them and their presentations. “Fly Angel” is a pro wrestling story told from the perspective of a black woman, a rare instance in the world of pro wrestling. Representation and a diversity in voices matter and a story like this aims to put a new voice at the forefront.
